このMIL規格は何度か改訂され、再発行され、各号はメインの標準番号の後に表示される新しい連続した接尾辞文字に指定されました。 各リビジョンでは、この特定のテストに固有のメソッド番号が変更されている可能性がありますが、メソッド自体は一般的に次のようになります。
高温で塩水噴霧気候にさらされた場合のコーティングされた試料およびコーティングされていない試料の腐食に対する相対耐性をテストするために使用できます。
試験片を密閉チャンバーに入れ、中性(pH 6.5~7.2)塩水溶液の連続間接スプレーにさらし、0.5~3.0ml/80cm²/時間の速度で試験片に落下させ、チャンバー温度+35Cで。 この気候は一定の定常状態条件下で維持されます。 テスト期間は可変です。
